MOTANKA

A traditional Ukrainian doll which is said to protect households and to bring prosperity and good fortune. Making Motankas is an ancient Ukrainian tradition. They are among the oldest archeological findings in Ukraine. The dolls are made out of natural materials including straw, grains, clay, wool and linen. SLAVA offer workshops in both Petrykivka and Motanka for festivals and events. Both workshops were very popular at the Gumeracha Medieval Fair in May 2019.
